20th May 1950 AGM at the Ardeer Recreation CLub where the Secretary/Treasurer's report claimed a success for a balance of £43-15-7d which was £1-7-9d less than one yeart ago. Mr McColl ressigned from the Chair but was persuaded to continue. An Open meeting at Dundonald was proposed with competitions to be arranged by a sub-committee. It was further proposed that a monthlycompetition be run throughout the season at 50yds and 100yds ranges. Both proposals were deferred to a meeting to be held later. In respect of the Burton Trophy a query on whether the allocation of entry monies could be altered received a negative response. Accordingly it was decided to return the trophy with thanks.


24th May 1951 AGM at the Ardeer Recreation Club confirmed that the Burton Trophy had been returned and a letter of congratulations on the state of the trophy received. Mr McColl tabled his resignation by letter due to beong assigned abroad. Mr J. S. Young was elected to the post of President. A proposal to change parts of the Constitution was defeated as was a proposal to have the members of the County Team shoot their cards together as a team.


10th May 1952 AGM at Ardeer Recreation Club with representatives from Irvine, Kilmaurs, Dundonald, Ardeer, Dalry, Maybole and Ayr were present. Ayr was welcomed as a recent affiliation. A vote of thanks was given to Mr Ramsay for his donation of £5 to the winners of the Ayrshire League which, once again, was Glengarnock. Itr was reported that the indoor shoot at Irvine was very successful. However the shooting of the Inter-County Knock Out and League matches was considered a failure due to changes in personnel of the team and late postings. To be considered before next season. A Kilmaurs member proposed a consideration of the outdoor ranges at Kilmaurs and Dundonald with the intent of granting an Open competition to Kilamurs in recognition of the work done in constructing their outdoor range.


14th May 1953 AGM at Ardeer Recreation Club was opened with the President congratulating Glenagarnock on their sixth successive win of the 'A' Division and the probmise of the President's Prize in the form of a pennant. Discussions also focussed on the Inter-County League due to difficulties in getting cards returned before the round closing dates. Decision on whether the County continued entering this league was left to Council. The continuing poor attendance at the Ayshire Open was put down to the cost of ammunition. Donations were offered by individuals to subsidise tha coast of ammunition to permit it to be sold at 6d per box, It was proposed that each shooter would gain the subsidised price for 200 rounds of ammunition provided that he/she had entered for the aggregate. A further proposal was made that each club should provide a prize from club funds. This and an offer to provide a Newcomers Prize were passed to a working party to consider and report back.


20th May 1954 AGM at Ardeer Recreation Club was opened by the President congratulating Mr C. R. Glen on winning both the indoor and outdoor chanpionships in the one year. The President, Mr J Young, also advised that he had not yet managed to get a suitable pennant for the league winners of 1952-53 but hoped to have one in the near future. Thos meeting also moved that 4 members of each club could vote at AGMs. The question of entering a team in the InterCounty League was revisited and it was decided that a team be picked to shoot together in each match on various ranges throughout the season. The Secretary reported that he had provisionally enteres a team in the Minor Counties Competition and proposals for teams to compete for the BSA Cup and the Alexander Cup were tabled. These were all left for Council to decide. The high cost of ammunition, the shortage of American brands and the high cost of running the Scottish meeting wereall discussed without conclusion. This meeting also listed all the winners of the competitions.


18th May 1955 AGM at Ardeer Recreation Club opened with the Chairman expressing his pleasure at the large attendance since there was good news for the Association. He referred to the County Sextette score of 1189 ex 1200 and the selections of Mr C. Glen to the Dewar Shield Team. Congratulations were also given to Mr R. J. Ramsay of the Irvine Club on being selected in a representative capacity in the pistol field and to Mr I. Crombie of the Kyle Club on being chosen for the Scottish International team at Aberdeen. The positon of the pennant was queried to learn that the number required made the cost prohibitive and the idea had been dropped. After the presentaion of prizes the Secretary drew attention to the Inter County League and te County Knock-Out Competition and was instructed to lodge entries for both.


16th May 1956 AGM at Ardeer Recreation Club commenced with a consideration from the Chair that the season had been no worse that the previous season regretting that only 2 divisions were run. In the Inter County and County Knock out competitions the County had been very successful winning division 5 of the League for the first time. It was a matter of regret that a record score of 1994 for the Ayrshire Team was not quite good enough to get to the final of the Knock-Out competition. The team had gained the custody of the Millfield No ! Trophy. The Chairman thanked his committee for their support thoughout the year and Dundonald Rifle Club for the use of their outdoor range for the County Outdoor meeting. Following the acceptance of the minutes all reports were presented and accepted. The Secretary then raised a number of minor changes to the Constitution and Rules to bring the wording up to date. All were approved. A proposal for a 'Shooter of the Year' award alongwith the proposal that it should be presented to Mr R.J. Ramsay of the Irvine Club. The proposal was carried and the sourcing of the plaque was left to the Chairman and Secretary. Mr Glen then proposed a social event with a meal and the presentation of County prizes. It was considered that the clubs could also bring and present their trophies at the event. The proposal was carried and planned to take place at the start of the next season. A proposal that the County Captain should be an office bearer was tabled but could not be considered at this meeting as it had not met the conditions for submission. The County Representative, Mr Guy, reported that the NSRA had been advised of a desire to hold the 1957 Scottish Meeting in Ayrshire. A letter is to be sent to the NSRA to expedite a decision. The prizes were then awarded.


15th May 1957 AGM at Ardeer Recreation Club. The Chairman extended a welcome to members and hoped that new members would benefit from the contact and extend their interest in the work of the Association. He was proud to be Chairman of an Association with such a high standard of marksmanship in the affiliated clubs mentioning the Scottish Champion, Mr C Glen of Irvine. Thje Chairman also highlightes the change from cash prizes to plaques for the league leaders before thankinng his committee for the year. Following the approval of the minutes it was pointed out that whilst the County Captain was appointed annually there was no such position in the Constitution. The point was noted for the next AGM. The Chairman responded to a query on the 'Shooter of the Year' award before the Secretary outlined the preparations for the Dinner and Presentation of Prizes. The question of outside invitations was discussed in detail. The Secretary then read a letter from the NSRA intimating the affiliation of a club at ROF Irvine. It was considered that there was no prospect of that club joining in the Association's Leagues. For the Open Meeting the Secretary suggested the appointment of Range Officers. Sufficient volunteers were gained to cover the meeting. A discussion on the details of the meeting followed. The Secretary submitted a specimen of a form for the Winter Competitions. The format was accepted and the new form is to be used for the next season.


7th May 1958 AGM at Ardeer Recreation Club. The Chairman offered congratulations to Mr J. Gibson of Glengarnock on winning the Yates Memorial Cup, the County Championship and a success in the Dragon Bowl competition. He aslo reported that the County Team had done well winning both Millfield Trophies and setting a new record score of 1997 ex 2000. Attendance at the Association's first venture of a social gathering had been spoilt by a 'flu eperdemic but sufficient numbers attended to encourage Council to repeat the effort. The Open Meeting at Dundonald had been successful in spite of the rain and the attendance of competitors from Glasgow and Lanarkshire was appreciated. Following acceptance of the minutes the appointment of the COunty Captain was discussed and the Chair considered that it should be retained. A proposal that the 'Shooter of the Year' award be continues was tableds with a nomination but no decision was made. Council tables a motion that the AGM should be left to the discretion of the Council and this was agreed. A working party was established to look into a badge for the County Team. The Chairman advised that he had received from the NSRA specimen 10 bull targets for trial. Those were passed to C. Glen, Irvine; J.S. Young, Ardeer; W.H. Beaton, Ayr and I. M. Crombie, Kyle for assessment. A proposal to give £1.00 to the Ardeer Reccreation Club doorkeeper for services rendered was put forward and carried.


13th May 1959 AGM at Ardeer Recreaton Club. The Chairman welcomed all members and congrstulated the winners of the League and Winter competitions. The minutes were read and adopted. Favourable comment was made on the new 10 bull targets used though the Winter Season. The Secretary submitted correspondence from the NSRA with reference to 15 and 25 yard gauges and from a Dundee County representative on County Team badges. The financila report was presented and accepted. An ammendment to the Rules that team members' averages should be stated when submitting forms was put forward and accepted. A proposal that County Team Badges should be given to all team members that pear in 50% pf the matches was discussed and approved. It was decided that the cards in the Minor Counties League will be shot on the 6th September on the Dundonald Outdoor Range. The Annual Social was fixed for the 8th October at the Ritz Ballroom. A proposal was made that a Shoulder-to-shoulder league be formed to foster inter-club relations. The proposal was carried and the Secretary instructed to put the proposal before Council at its next meeting. The matter of the Scottish meeting was discussed and it was proposed that the minute of the last Council meeting should be adopted. An amendment that it the Ayr Town Council are prepared to invite the NSRA to hold the 1960 Scottish Meeting in Ayr the Association would support the Meeting was put forward. The original proposal was carried by 9 votes to 5.
